Foster Parent Appreciation Week – Celebrating the Schilkofskis

The Schilkosfkis have been licensed for about four years and historically provided respite (short term care) for children. Numerous children have been in their home and each were cared for as their own. Just within the last year they made the decision to keep a placement long term. They have gone over and beyond in their role as a foster parent. Supervising visits, attempting to work with biological parents and extended family members, and some examples of their commitment. In addition to the placement, Lauren is always lending a helping hand to the other foster parents. Whether it be for a few hours or overnight, she is truly a saving grace to some of our parents. Lauren has recently stepped up as the President of the Clay County Foster Parent Association and we are thrilled to see how the group takes off.
