April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

During the month of April, Kids First of Florida joins with child advocates around the US to bring awareness to the problem of child abuse and neglect. We know that childhood trauma can cause lifelong physical and mental health problems. Together, we can help prevent child abuse and neglect.

Recently, the Board of Commissioners of Clay County approved a Proclamation naming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in our county. We appreciate their support in the effort to eliminate child abuse and neglect.

As part of this effort, Kids First has joined the MANicure Movement, which encourages men (and women!) to apply blue nail polish to a single fingernail. You can stop by any of Kids First or Clay Behavioral Health Center locations to pick up a free bottle of blue nail polish during April, while supplies last.

You can learn more about child abuse and how you can help prevent it, on our Prevent Abuse page.
